AMIDAKUJI de Alex Dorfsman #Libros

Amidakuji es un juego tradicional japonés en el que se crean relaciones de pares al azar entre dos conjuntos, siempre y cuando cada uno de ellos contenga el mismo número de piezas. Alex Dorfsman retoma este ejercicio lúdico para estructurar su libro; el lector crea sus propias combinaciones, pero con una libertad pensada, a través de tonos, formas, colores, contrastes y similitudes. El azar y la traducción resultan piezas claves para entender la composición.

El lector además encontrará una pequeña guía de cómo debe ser leído: en las páginas izquierdas está la traducción literal correspondiente a la imagen de las páginas derechas; al final, se incluye una serie de notas, una especie de glosario para la mayor comprensión de las traducciones.

Amidakuji retrata el viaje que hace Alex Dorfsman a un lugar desconocido. La mirada que convive con letras indescifrables en forma de anuncios, empaques o postales que pasan desapercibidas por el contacto cotidiano. El interés del artista por la caligrafía japonesa lo ha orillado a recuperar y resignificar la palabra a través del desprendimiento de su significado y de poner atención en su calidad formal y compositiva.

La edición consta de 150 ejemplares, todos contienen una fotografía original y están firmados y numerados por el autor.

Alex Dorfsman

(Ciudad de México, 1977) vive y trabaja en la ciudad de México.

Realizó la licenciatura en Artes Plásticas en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado “La Esmeralda”, ciudad de México. Ha realizado exposiciones individuales y participado en varias exposiciones colectivas en México y en el extranjero.

Es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores del FONCA. Obtuvo la beca Programa de Fomento a Proyectos y Coinversiones Culturales del FONCA, 2007-2008. Fue becario del programa Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA, generación 2005-2006. Recibió el Premio de Fotografía Latinoamericana Purificación García, 2011.

Ha realizado las siguientes publicaciones: Amidakuji, Ediciones Acapulco, México, 2015 / 3 pausas rumbo a Nikko, Editorial RM, México/Barcelona, 2014 / This mountain collapsed and became a bridge, Editorial RM, México/Barcelona 2012 / Plot your progress, Casa Vecina, México 2012 / Selección Natural, Editorial RM, México/Barcelona 2008 / It’s almost real, isn’t it?
