La película más emblemática de esa década, con personajes icónicos que hoy, 30 años después, todo mundo conoce.
Se trata de GHOST, La sombra del amor, que ahora llega a la cartelera teatral mexicana con una puesta en escena sorprendente, misma que ha significado un verdadero reto para todos los creativos que participan en ella, y que son:
SOBRE EL VESTUARIO
Dada la cercanía en el tiempo y el espacio, así como la familiaridad de los personajes, lo que pudiera parecer una ventaja, es en realidad lo contrario.
“Si hay algo difícil en el teatro –explica Estela Fagoaga—es vestir a los personajes de una época tan cercana y con una historia que además todo mundo vio. Así que hay que respetar esas imágenes, sin que eso signifique olvidarse de la creatividad”.
Y a la creatividad hay que sumarle la habilidad, pues el elenco de GHOST lo integran 17 actores que interpretan a cerca de un centenar de personajes, cada uno con ropa, zapatos, e incluso pelucas diferentes.
Además de la cantidad de vestuario, otro reto fue lograr a un mismo tiempo que la ropa transporte al público que los vivió a los años 90, pero que al mismo tiempo no se sienta viejo para los jóvenes que se acercarán a esta historia por vez primera.
SOBRE LA ESCENOGRAFÍA
La escenografía de GHOST pesa aproximadamente 10 toneladas y cuenta con elevadores, tres muros que se mueven en diferentes configuraciones para cada escena y cinco telones de gran formato.
Durante el musical se realizan 41 movimientos escenográficos que incluyen el enorme departamento de Molly y Sam, el salón de la médium Oda Mae Brown, las calles de Nueva York, un edificio de oficinas, un hospital, un lujoso banco, la estación de metro de la calle 42 y un vagón de metro que emerge del escenario.
Para darnos una idea de su dimensión, es necesario señalar que el muro central de la escenografía mide más de 10 metros de largo por 6 de altura; mientras que los laterales miden 7 metros de largo por igualmente 6 metros de altura.
Dada su historia, en el montaje hay una gran cantidad de dispositivos automatizados en la escenografía para poder llevar a cabo todas las ilusiones y cambios de escenografía.
Algunos ejemplos de estos mecanismos son el sistema de elevación del vagón del metro, persianas con rodillos automatizados que cambian las escenas en las ventanas monumentales, una gran variedad de dispositivos ocultos en los muros y un sistema de bofetón giratorio que facilita los cambios de las fachadas de la puerta monumental al centro de la escenografía.
La mayor parte de la escenografía se construyó con madera, fierro ligero y aluminio; y se distingue por incluir una serie de dispositivos muy sofisticados para poder llevar a cabo las espectaculares ilusiones del musical. Estos elementos requieren de gran precisión así como el uso en conjunto de dispositivos lumínicos, escenográficos, de video y de efectos especiales.
En la realización de todos los elementos escenográficos de GHOST participaron más de 70 personas de áreas como construcción escenográfica, automatización, utilería, pintura escénica, instalación de dispositivos lumínicos, impresión y confección de telones de gran formato y realización de efectos especiales.
SOBRE ILUMINACIÓN Y AUDIO
Otro de los aspectos que deslumbrará al público es la sofisticada iluminación que permite, como el montaje lo requiere, momentos realmente mágicos, nunca mejor dicho y ejecutado.
Para lograr en tiempo y forma que todo estuviera listo, participaron en el montaje de luces y audio 140 personas (60 técnicos directamente implicados en el montaje, y otros 80 como proveedores durante el mismo)
Como botones de muestra de lo impresionante que es esta área de GHOST baste enlistar el equipo de iluminación y audio que actualmente cuelga en el teatro San Rafael y que deslumbrarán al público:

Equipo de LED inalámbrico, de última generación
35 bocinas MEYER SOUND
26 micrófonos
Cada uno de estos equipos cuenta detrás con un experto que, amén de su responsabilidad habitual, tiene aquí el reto extra de decenas de efectos especiales y trucos, que deben suceder con enorme precisión, para lograr en el público el impacto deseado.
Además del elenco, GHOST cuenta con una plantilla de 30 personas más directamente implicadas para que suceda cada función: cinco en luces; tres, vestuario; dos, pelucas; tres, audio; dos, utileros; ocho, tramoya, telar y set electrics; dos, stage manager y cuatro personas más de producción.
Sí, medio centenar de personas hacen que cada función de GHOST sea, nunca mejor dicho, magia pura.
